WHO THE HELL IS SETTLING HOUSES

Settling Houses is an indie rock band hailing from Omaha, blending melodic folk sensibilities with raw punk energy. Their songs are curious, ranging from pop songs about rotten fruit to indie rock songs about bad religion. It’s hard to pin the members of Settling Houses down. Always moving and changing and experimenting, it seems as if, perhaps, they’ve never managed to settle into anything. Let alone a house.

VOLUME ONE

for the last several months, we have been releasing two songs every two months. we've been calling them duprasses. this is a silly thing to call them. two songs written to sit next to each other and tell a full story.

because we’ve put so much care into naming and creating those pairings, we didn’t want to force the album into being something it wasn't. instead we’ve combined all 4 duprasses into an album of 8 songs.

and named it Volume One.

so, our first 8 songs in one place. the identity crises of No Body, the angry weariness of Spare Parts for the Empire, the claustrophobic romance of Give Me the Light and the self-sabotage of Big Low.
